No 1BB is just a Pack no. code. It just means an Exec Air Cond pack.
C60 is the code for standard (non-climate) Air Cond, but 1BB adds all of the necessary parts to an Exec which come as part of an Air Cond pack. This includes tinted windows, heavy duty radiator etc. etc.
It's just more about paperwork. When a dealer orders an Exec with air con, he just ticks the 114 & 1BB boxes.
Ir's seems odd these days that VT-VZ Executives & even early VE Omegas didn't get air con as standard equipment. When was the last time you saw one of these without air ?
AFAIK I know Air Cond wasn't made standard in these cars until VEII, by which time even the most basic cars (utes) got dual-zone climate control.

When I bought my VS in late 2000 any base VS came with A/C but it wasn't part of the price, and there was none available without it. I bought an S as there were no manual Holden utes left either. As Dr Terry says, they just built stock order cars with A/C and if you didn't want it you had to do a retail order and wait. |

How does the climate control truly work ? does it just add hot air to keep the temp down to what is set. or is it an economy device that only serves the compressor to kick in till the temp that it is set at.
One has to adjust the heat controls in a standard A/C and such would use more fuel than if the A/C worked only when needed. or if you are like me who keeps hitting the A/C and switching it off, mainly I switch the A/C off if I am going up hill to save fuel, not to mention this is done on recirculated. I can use my A/C on automatic climate control or manual.
I have seen A/C with economy mode, so what does that truly do ?
