Hi guys

I'm looking for the late HZ & early commodore spacer/cone/bush that goes in the "ear" on full cable bellhousing.
I have seen some for sale @ rare spares or kingswood country, but they arn't same as original, & seemed expensive for a quite basic part.
I would presume commodore restoration guys would not be happy with this part, & wonder has anyone located an original reproduction of these "cones", or someone stocking some genuine ones?

Alternatively, thinking 3D printing, is there a business that you can ask to reproduce things like this, or more likely, Have a go doing it yourself?

Am I being "too precious" on a part that cant be seen, & just buy the available one?

Any suggestions or advice appreciated

Cheers
Ian

You could machine down some skateboard or roller skate wheel material. I reckon you’d almost do it in a lathe.

Thanks smitty,

That's the same item I saw for $39.
Maybe I'm behind in the times, I still think it is too much for a very basic part!
The last original one I've got has "claws" to hold it in place, but with the advertised one being just a cone, would you glue in in the bellhousing, or just let the cable locate it?

Thanks for any ideas
Ian

Have you considered the "claw" marks are wear marks and it started life out smooth with no dirt build up inside to create the "claws"

The part I'm talking of is a g.m.h. new item. I think I only have one left, from the half dozen I bought 15/20 years ago.
I don't know how to put up a image, I will see if I can work it out

I think Ian means the lip at the back. I must admit I’ve never seen them on one either, I’ve only had them where they sit in the cone. Maybe the design changed so the “genuine” GMP&A spare part was not as per production after a certain time?

Yes, the fig 4 is correct, with what looks like a lip.

I cannot work out how to get images up, can I send to someone to upload?
It would be good to show the item on here

Thanks

I would use one of the free online photo hosting sites
I use IMGBOX... but you can use Google and a few others (which have certain limits)
