Seeking assistance from anybody who may own an HR with factory power steering.
Love to see some pics showing hoses from engine bay to the ram and fixings.
Memory not good and can't recall how and where attached.
Power steering unit is passenger side...unlike X2 which appears to be alongside brake booster.
Any help very much appreciated

AFAIK the power steering setup on all HD/HR is basically the same regardless of the engine fitted. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "Power steering unit is passenger side...unlike X2 which appears to be alongside brake booster."

What do you mean by "unit" ? Are you talking about the pump, valve or hydraulic ram ?

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

I have a slight obsession with early Holden Power Steering systems 😊

EJ, EH, HD/HR (2 sets), HK/T/G Chev engine, HK/T/G Holden engine.

My HR X2 Premier Wagon has a factory type unit fitted to it, although it's a unit that I fitted so not "technically" factory fitted.

X2 w/Powersteer had afew differences, although the pump was still mounted on the passengers side.

*The pump housing had a different angle for the return line, due to clearance issues with the Inlet manifold.
*The subframe mounted "ram support bracket" was different for X2, due to the dual front exhaust pipe.

I've just taken some pictures of my HR Premier setup, which will hopefully do the trick.

As a side note, due to a 179 head having been fitted to my HR, it retains a standard top thermostat housing & hose (like an HD) instead of the EH style thermostat housing and special top hose usually found on an HR w/Powersteer.

Those photos should be in order, from the pump all the way down to the valve.

Happy to answer any questions 🤟
