Gday guys, I went to change the clutch in a VN 5.0L, & the spigot bush fell out, when the box was dropped down. It still seems a tight fit in the crank, & sits on the input shaft nicely with no tight spots. My question, is this a common happening, or any reason this occurred & anything I need to look at before putting back together? Obviously I will purchase a new bush, is there any option or quality, where to buy this from?
Cheers for any advice

Cheers for any advice unusual... spigot bushes don't usually come out with the box in my experience unless well worn or the box left to hang when being withdrawn from the bellhousing. Try and get a genuine Holden one if you can if you are going to get a newie ... |

Yes, Smitty seemed unusual to me, but I spoke to a local mechanic this afternoon & he said he had seen a few that the bush was loose. Unfortunately holden says the bush is N.L.A., so I rang Bursons & they have these in stock
It usually takes a bit of effort to remove spigot Bushes out of Red motors, (I used to pack with grease & hammer a clutch shaft to pop them out) so I don't know why this came loose

I agree with the old method using grease. Maybe it's a change from imperial sizing to metric. The brass bush being metric

The Holden V8 crankshaft was still machined in imperial measure & I can only assume the the T5, being US sourced & pretty 'old school', that it too would be in imperial measure. Dr Terry |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
