Hi All.
My parts manual suggest there were 2 V8 coils for the HQ 253/308 engines:
Bosch 7435105
Lucas 7440470

All I've managed to spot on the internet are Lucas coils with the listed Bosch part number (i.e. 7435105).
Here for example:
https://www.ebay.com.au/...f&LH_ItemCondition=4
I'm guessing the part numbers have been transposed in the manual.

Were the Lucas V8 coils used more commonly on the HQs, than the Bosch ?
I can't seem to find any reference to Bosch coils with either of the above part numbers.

Tks&Rgds,
Andrew.

I've probably still got some in the shed, will look and see what is on them GMH part number wise. I had dozens of HEI ones but I'm sure there are still a few old HT-HZ ones there too.

That Lucas number (6294104B) is what I have listed for a HJ or LH 4.2 high compression engine, The Bosch number (9 220 061 421) is listed for HJ 4.2 low comp or 5.0L.

The same Lucas coil is listed for various ADR27A 3300 engines and 4.2 and 5.0L engines.

7435105 is in the HZ parts catalogue as the Bosch coil for 6cyl and V8.

Thanks HK. I'd appreciate that.
I've always been a bit averse to Lucas ignition parts. They've always got a bad wrap in comparison to Bosch. Could be myth!
Seems fair enough that Lucas and Bosch coils for the same fitment would share the same GMH part number....but strange that they each have a different number in the parts catalogue.

I had a look, the only GMH fitted Bosch coils I have are WB-VL HEI coils. All the rest of the originals are Lucas and have 7435105 on them. Some have V8 brackets, some 6cyl on them and all are mid to late 70's. I'd say they were far more common than Bosch units otherwise I'd have a mix of them.

Ah, thank you. That's the sort of info I was after. It tallies with what I've seen on the net.
If you'd like to sell one of the brackets, let me know. I need one.

I don't have any spare, the two I have belong to a pair of HT-HG 308 engines that I have to put together at some stage and sell them when I get time to do it.
