Hi everyone.
I was wondering if anyone could fill in the blanks for me with the air doors and the mode setting
Switch setting
Off - Recirculation door closes (Recerc air) Max - Recirculation door closes and the two bi-level doors open. Normal - Recirculation door opens and the two bi-level doors open. Bi-Level - One bi-level door opens (top one I think) and the demister opens Vent - Both Bi-level doors open and no air con Heater - Demister - Demister door opens
What doors open for the heater setting.
Cheers John

John This will all be in a Holden and Statesman service manual. Volume 5 of the HQ Service Manual has a really good section on it, not sure if much will be in the HJ, X, Z or WB supplements as it is pretty much the same. There are vacuum switch diagrams and tables. There is good info in there. I don't have time to go through it all but basically: When switch is in HEATER CAR position and temperature switch is in COLD position the compressor and the hot water valve are off and the blower is on. The temperature, mode and demist doors close (with 5% bleed to demist), and the inlet air to outside is open. If the temperature switch is moved to HOT the water valve opens and then the outside air is heated and blown to floor and 5% bleed to demist. If you move the switch to DEMIST it does the same but directs air to the demister ducts. Here are the manuals, not sure if the WB supplement will give you much more than the HQ one: https://www.ebay.com.au/...c42a:g:H28AAOSwAblgUvjb

Thanks you the reply. I couldnt work out when there was a small amount of vacuum at the demister port when I thought there shouldnt have been. So a 5% bleed to the door, makes sense now Cheers
