Hi gurus. Ive come to the conclusion that at least 3 out of the 4 power window motors in my VC SLE are pretty well knackered. It seems no one has aftermarket ones any more. Does any one know a good hack for upgrading the mechanisms? Better motors, other models that fit, other after market options etc? Id really like to put something in the door that works properly with a better motor rather than all that horrid old school cable stuff. Do VN or VS etc onwards setups fit with modifications? Cheers,

Cheers, I have been told VR and VS MOTORS can (with some mods) be used in the front doors... which get the most use of course. the back doors?? hahaha.... whoever designed that setup in Opel (Holden copied it!) should be forced to spend the rest of their lives winding cable on pulleys but.. no I am not aware of any successful update/upgrade with a whole later (say VN version) set up. Motor change only? again i have heard nothing |

HOLDCOM in Perth have taken VR/VS FRONT DOOR motors and done a kit up for front doors on VK and VL I found out today (when i went to order something else off them) have a look at their site, maybe drop them a line |

Also Google Opel electric door motor on EBay. See if anything looks similar. HK-WB used motors that are the same/similar as USA made stuff. As Commodore is basically Opel surely some stuff is common. |

Thanks legends. Yeah it seems there is a few companies like holdcom out there advertising replacement setups but everyone is out of stock. Ive chased up a few leads and no joy yet but some im still waiting on replies from. One guy I made contact with is about to release VS onwards motors and he will be remanufacturing VB - L but they wont be ready for around 4 to 5 months he reckons. Clearly theres a good market for em as a lot of people have told me theyre chasing them as well.

The cables on a VK were an absolute nightmare. Be careful with them.

Hi guys. Just an update. Holcomm and power windows plus are both getting front window motors in but waiting on stock which could be months. Power windows plus have rear door units in stock. So I bought a pair. They also have a very handy install guide on their website. They certainly make it look a lot easier than it was when I last did it!! https://www.powerwindowsplus.com.au/about-1
