Hi again,

Replacing the headlight loom in my HJ.(twin h'light)

Loom starts from an 8? pin plug on firewall called the Lighting Harness Connector in the manual

How does the plug come out please ?

I have confirmed the existing plug has the same amount of wires (8) as the plug on the new loom

Brake fail
horn relay * 2 ?? green and black
High beam
Low beam
parkers ??
Right turn
left turn

Thanks in advance

I can't give you the layout of the pins, but the wire colours are:

Light brown - brake fail.
Dark green - horn power.
Black - horn earth.
Dark blue - right blinker.
Light blue - left blinker.
Purple - park lights.
Light green - high beam.
Light brown - low beam.

I will have a look at my old looms next week, that might help more.
Working in there sucks! Consider taking the entire mudguard off if you need to get in there for a really good look.
Or trace it from the other side. If you can see the wire colours that will make it easy.
Otherwise stick a test light or multimeter on the pins and switch things on.
Have fun!

Doesn't it have a central nut and bolt to hold it in place? That is have you undone this nut?

From the engine bay side there should be 2 plugs into that connector and the nut and bolt should hold the edge of each plug. One plug above, one below.

All sorted

Undo the bolt, grab top & bottom plugs & wriggle like fuck & they come away from firewall connector

Bottom plug dovetails into top plug, replaced old with the new , replaced bolt

All working

Woot woot
