What would be the best coil to used in a hq with a 350 chev the motor is stock,

a bosch GT40 or a GT40R or something else.

If the car has its stock wiring harness the GT40R is the one. GT40 is designed for earlier cars without a ballast resistor.

Goss have them too, C173. Unfortunately they are red like the GT coils

They are only about $35 on Ebay.

For some reason they make the HEI ones (with post or socket) in black.

If you want an original look, you can use a Bosch SU12R which has the silver case. My p/no. for those is IGC-300.
