Ive overhauled the master cylinder with new kit and bled the brakes but the pedal feel is crap and has ordinary stopping power
Any ideas?

Either not bled properly or reaction pad behind the master cyl fell off inside the booster.

From what I can see, there is a acutator sticking out of the booster where the master slots into

Item 20 in the image. They can fall down if the pushrod comes out.

as HK said... bled properly from LH rear forward?
front rotors adjusted properly? (otherwise you get pad knockback)
new pads too with these repairs?
checked the booster out? it working correctly? did you replace the filter in it? (No.26 in the pic)
