Found a couple of cool other questions.

When was special vehicle package BT1 introduced?

What did it include?

Premier models. We all know that the Premier was the top spec luxury Holden from EJ to HZ sedan and wagon. But what other vehicle built by GMH wore the Premier badge?

SUBJECT; NAT1ONAL POLICE PACK (OPTION 011) (25/11/1983)
MODEL: VH COMMODORE
The National Police Pack option has been developed to provide a
uniform base vehicle and set of options, for use by all Australian Poltce Departments.
Vehicles built under the option BT1 have the following features;
ADDED
-Rear door armrests are fitted to front doors.
-Door map pockets(SL/E door bins-untrimmed),
-Roof wiring loom as per current Tas.Police vehicles),
-1" cable hole in L.H.S. firewall & 2.5 mm hole plug-ref.sketch 3. -Dual high note horns-ref.sketch 5,
-1" master cylinder(disc brakes only).
-Roof rail harness -
-Headlamp harness
-100/55 watt headIamp bulbs refer -sketches 3 & 4.
- Headlamp relay.
-Auxiliary speedometer lead assembly.

DELETE
- front door armrests
- Standard master .cylinder disc brakes only)
-Standard headlamp bulbs

REVISED
-Rear seat base..
-Battery cable.
THe Base Model Police Vehicle Carries the Following Equipment:-
-3.3 litre 6 cylinder engine.
-4 speed manual gearbox(3.5:1 first gear, -3.08;1 rear axle ratio,
All Vehicles Carry the Following Mandatory Equisment:-
-Remote L.H_ external roar vision mirror.
-Anti-glare interior rear vision mirror prismatic)..
-Certified speedometer.
-Full instrumentation(including oil,volts & tacho.). -Locking Fuel filler cap,
-Vertical lift Front seat height adjuster.
-Door assist handles (1 front, 2 rear),
-Revised spare wheel mounting-ref_sketch I.
-Reworked front & rear fender openings and fender inner liner deleted for tyre clearance).
-Combinad dome reading lamps,
-Floor reinforcement front seats'.
-Improved suspension system - ref.sketch 2.

NATIONAL POLICE PACK BT11 continued:
The Following Options are Available:-
-5.0 litre V8 engine.
-4.2 litre V8 engine.
- Not fuel handling kit.
-Police engine equipment.
-Limited slip differential.
- Automatic transmission(Trinatic code LS).
- Modified auto. trans. OEft mechdnism. -4 speed manual gearbox (2.S4:1 first gear -Coniole A armrest.
- 2.6, 2.78 or 3.36:1 rear axle ratio. -Tinted glass.
Front :suspension Alignment specifications are as follows:- With the vehicle at curb weight (full tank of fuel)
- Castor 2 degrees + or - 1 degree
- Camber 0 degrees 30 minutes + or - 30 minutes
- Toe-in (Degrees) Total :0 degrees 20 minutes + or - 20 minutes
- Toe-in (Degrees) per wheel :0 degrees 10 minutes + or - 10 minutes
- Toe-in (mm) Total :2.0 + or - 2.0
- Toe-in (mm) per wheel :1.0 + or - 1.0
The adjusting Values for camber and castor must remain within the tolerance specified and the difference between left and right must not exceed 1 degrees 0 minutes.

Other Information.
- Standard lining and pad material is used in the brake system.
-Radio interference suppression equipment may be fitted to some vehicles, this equipment will be described in detail In a Tech./info. Bulletin to be issued in the near future.
- Far a list of specific components used in these vehicles, and part numbers of components which appear fin the accompanying sketches,
refer to P.& A. Bulletin NO.1195,Dated 2 Sept 1983,

As far as your Premier question, wasn't there a prototype Torana hatch that had the Premier nameplate?

Very close but it may not have been a prototype but a pilot.

I don't have the full story, but it appears that the 8UG69 and 8UH69 were sold in the Philippines as the S and SL as they were here. They were a 1900 Opel engine with 4spd manual (auto optional). Once the 8UG69 was dropped and only the 8UH69 remained becoming the Sunbird here and in NZ, the SL became the PREMIER (also seen in GMH literature as Holden Premier) in the Philippines. Not sure if this continued into UC or what happened once the Starfire was introduced.

It was SVP XW1 which included:

U22 - Instrument Cluster assembly (oil, water, volt and clock)
A8M - Premier exterior ornamentation
VE5 - front and rear bumper rub strips (same as Sunbird)
P03 - Wheel trim disc and chrome wheel nuts (same as Sunbird)
QRB - tyre 173SR13 4 P/R radial ply black tubeless.

Earliest BT1 I remember seeing is HZ. But might have even been HX.

HX it is Warren. Added to the POA document on April 28 1977.
Available Kingswood sedan and wagon. BT1 added the following component options:

L32
BG9 - rubber floor covering.
K96 - 55A alternator.
U05 - high note horn.
GV4 - 3.36 rear axle.
U11 - speedometer - Police (certified km/h).
U91 - roof sign lead.
QTY - Tyre and Tube 185SR14.

Feature changes:
Hardened tip exhaust valves.
In-line filter.
Heavy Duty steering column - only with M15 transmission.

it also should be noted that the BT1 production option did not go on the broadcast sheet unless approved (by Zone sales) on the sales order
and was accompanied with a V6.. something code (there were various that said this is a government order) plus the V8.. something 'state' code

and when you got to Commodore, there was also extra BT1 related codes in BO1 and BY1 which were needed depending on the BT1 sales order

Re the Premier question: Wasn't there an EK "Premier" built for an executive at GM-H? From memory it was also a test mule for the upcoming power steering.
Attn camry drivers. The accelerator is the skinny pedal on the right.

Yeah there was, but it wasn't a production car and it (as far as I remember) was a simple concept car for the upcoming EJ Premier? Did it actually wear a Premier badge? Memory tells me it may have.

I saw that EK once, but (I can't remember specifics) came away with the impression that it wasn't all original, but retro fitted/customised out of factory. Is there independent documentation of it, or just the owner's claims?

None of those design type promo/proto vehicles are "factory". Portions of them would have been like special paint, but they were generally production type vehicles fitted with production vehicle options for example the Ewe't with the 350 and TH400. Then they were modified in Engineering and/or Styling, and sometimes in the Service Garage. That is the nature of the business though, you didn't bother production with one-off stuff, even engines. That was all normally outsourced, like modified heads for XU1 and L34, flares added for the homologation U sized Toranas etc. There were special areas at places like Dandenong to do custom stuff.

I know that EK "Premier" quite well.

It was built as personal transport for the then MD Harlow Gage & was shown at various motor shows in 1961. It was built in the early EK era, well before the EJ Premier was to be released, but was fitted with a lot of Premier goodies, plus power steering & various other unique bits. It didn't wear 'Premier' badges back then, although a later owner did fit them.

The name Premier itself wasn't even established until about 5 weeks before the EJ Premier's release. It was originally to be called 'Super Special' & badged as such in pre-production. Early pilot cars & brochure pics actually displayed 'Super Special' badges.
