I know this part of the forum is for Rare Spares parts, but how do these rivets attach? Do you use a normal rivet gun?

And apart from it not looking authentic, if I drill off my tags and soak them in paint stripper to take them back to metal, can I just reattach them with normal hardware rivets?

Depending upon where and when the car was built and/or assembled it may have 1 or 2 tags painted originally.
I wouldn’t remove them unless we are talking for example an Elizabeth body tag that rust badly underneath as they are on bare steel.

I've recently used a couple of the Rarespares rivets.

The instructions that come with them have 2 recommendations.

Either to glue/epoxy the tag and rivets in place, which I wasn't all that comfortable with.
Or to pierce a small hole through the middle of the rivet, and with a small diameter screw/bolt with flat washers either side (larger than the diameter of the rivet head), effectively squish the rivets into place.

If your really pedantic, you can put abit of putty into the rivets afterwards and hey presto! 🙂
