howdy i have an ef fairmont thats running a bit rough was going to put some injector cleaner through it but have heard whispers that some injector cleaners do more harm than good.. is this true and any recomendations on brand nulon, flash lube? thanks george

Nulons fine. Wynnes Spitfires good too. If it's from Wynnes or Nulon you can usually rely on it to be a good product. I've been using spitfire in the wifes car for years. Never an issue.

At the age of the car and probably the km,s, It probably would not hurt to pull the injectors out and have them serviced?

yeah age and ks considered i dont want to spend a great deal of $ on the car so will run with injector cleaner first and if all goes well i wont need to get the injectors serviced.

Run the injector cleaner with a full tank or premium unleaded. Shell is the best I'm told. It helps

hmmm take a look at your ignition H/T leads, if they look like they have a white powdery look, change them, it's very common. Would not hurt to remove those injectors and have them cleaned properly though.

yeah it is probably the best option but the car is still working so if the injector cleaner doesnt do the job thats the next step. will look at the ignition leads soon. cheers

also check intake manifold gasket or other vac leaks
