Can anyone help ID the month of my CHZ (1979)

I reached out to Holden Heritage but because it's a 1979 build they cannot help. Their records stop in 1978

Just ask here. The GMH Service/Maintenance records end mid 1978 when they went to a new warranty system. Around VB Commodore production start.

So there is no records that you can line up chassis or body number with build date - long sorry but ADR plate is missing.

Chassis is CHZ249xx

HK1837- I know you are a wealth of knowledge....the other mystery is the Chassis prefix appears to end in P (Perth) but the body is a Brisbane assembly prefix 4922xx(B)... Holden Heritage suggested the likely explanation is a bad dye stamp on Chassis and should be a B.

Your thoughts?

Mosman Park Assembly finished during HQ and as far as I am aware they only ever assembled cars from Woodville or Elizabeth bodies. Acacia Ridge bodies only ever went as far as Pagewood I believe, and rarely Holdens, mostly Torana pre LJ. So the chassis number has to be Acacia Ridge, nothing else even looks like a B at that stage, only A or S or B. As above Mosman Park (P) went around 1972 and the Valley Plant in Brisbane that used a B was gone by 1967.

I can get a build timeframe from the chassis number and PSN, but not with digits missing.

Will have a look when I’m near my database later today or on the weekend.

Looks like I edited your post too, rather than quoting it a few posts above. Will fix it later.

June 1979. Just into ADR35 on commercials I think hence the CHZ (1/79 I think CHZ started on commercials).
