Big Nut Master Cyl repair kit faults

Hi
Having rear brake issue after rebuilding a big nut HK Disc/drum master cylinder-- I'm suspecting the generic off ebay seal repair kit may have the wrong type size seal on the primary piston and is partially blocking the compensating port in the reservoir.
have others had this issue ?

no rear brakes - only have brakes under booster application
