Depends if it is a daily driver, highway cruising, blasting off the line etc? 3.25 or 3.50 is generally a good all round ratio but there are a lot of things to consider. You will want a quiet set of gears set up right no matter what. A fresh LSD centre is

Thanks: 1 times
Then you don't really need a nine inch. A borgy diff out of a falcon should do the job. If you are still wanting the nine inch then about a 2.75 or 3.0 centre should give you a good cruiser. 3.0 a bit better off the start. 2.75 bit better highway spee

I think you have to consider the average speed that you think you will be doing are you doing highway k's or suburb k's I agree with paul that 2.75 to 3.00 is good I would go more towards 2.7's better on fuel and longer legs.
