Hello all,
can anybody advise me why I cannot bolt on a Trimatic V* bell housing to a 6 cyl. Trimatic. My sons 253 ute has a burned out transmission and I want to put in GWO trans from a six.

Pump.
Number of clutches.
Speedo drive gear.
Selector location.

Easier and cheaper to find a good 253 or 308 box.

The two main obstacles when fitting a 6-cyl Tri-Matic auto to a V8 engine, would the bell-housing & the input shaft (different spline & length).

As adam PERTH says, both faces must be flat & not warped otherwise you will have other dramas. As Byron men
