Can someone please help with matching these numbers. I'm about to buy a hq coupe from SA and didn't want to go through the trouble of buying a car with problems. I'm wondering if these numbers match and what they are right. ID no- 12/72 CHQ68137m Model no- HQ81237 Body no- 0634zom. Trim no 184521r. Paint no- 567-13887 RCJ 36069Q ( not sure what this is) BHX40034S (not sure what this is) If any one can help that would be great. Edited by user Saturday, 4 December 2010 10:31:59 PM(UTC)

The car is a V8 LS monaro The chassis has been changed as CHQ68137M is a HQ number built in melbourne. BHX40034S states as HX built in Sydney.

Thanks for your reply mate. Would the HX indicate that the car has been hit at the front at one stage! And would that be a problem in any way in the future eg. ( price, getting it registered).

It could be one senario or the original one may have been cracked, It may affect future price for a fussy buyer , check with your RTA about what is required with a chassis change. In SA its original chassis number would probably not have been recorded so in SA you get away with that kind of thing.
