Can someone advise me of how to find out the build date, and any other releted info on a ht/hg Monaro?

As you look at it there will be a date code stamped on the bottom left of the steering box (assuming it's the original box), and if it's still there you will find a stencilled date code on the end of the steering column poking out of the firewall into the engine bay.
The date code on the box is day month & year, eg 12D9 means 12/4/69, you will have to check the archives to get all the codes. That date will be the day or very close to the assembly date.

So I'm guessing 3rd. October 1969?

There was no letter I used so 3J9 would be 3rd sept 69 (I might be wrong)

Well the master cylinder has no big nut, just a cast housing. It's been that way since the early seventies.
The front-end/outrigger has just been painted, so I've lost that info.
