What would cause a vs commodore? front drivers seat belt to "lock on" when parking the car on an angle? eg.when parking in a gutter or steep enbankment. Had a look in the tentioner but all I can see is a large ball bearing moving about? AL.

Hi Al,

I think some of the inertia reels from that era must have been factory duds. I bought a low km VS Statesman when it was a couple of years old and it had exactly the same problem. Changing the angle of the reel didn't work either.

I seem to remember calling Holden at the time for a new one but they were either really expensive or no longer available. I got a good second hand one from the wreckers (including the B-pillar trim I think), and never had any problems after that.

Just make sure you get the right trim code - most VS were 25 (dark grey) or 15 (light grey).
