Is this while idling or when you are cruising?

This is at idling, but on the weekend I took it for a good drive and gave it a bit and went down to about 60%, so I'm guessing it could be working?

I have a HQ Holden and while idling, it is at around 10% and while driving around 50%. Unsure if yours is wrong or mine. It never has gone above 50%.

The oil pressure should normally read about 1/2 when cruising and drop a bit at idle especially on a hot day.
Factory oil pressure gauges are not overly accurate so if you are worried about it get it checked with a more accurate mechanical gauge.
