Has anyone put a vn auto gearbox, behind a red 6 in a hk ht hg, and if so, what needs to be done? I see that castlemaine rod shop do a kit for $475 (AP051) Is this all that is needed? or do you need to play with the xmember, tailshaft?
cheers

It is only an adapter plate, torque converter spacer(s) and nuts and bolts. You'll need crossmember, tailshaft, speedo cable etc. Then you'll have the same problems as those that use adapter plates on trimatic 308 blocks.
Much easier to use a 253 block redrilled to TH pattern and a V8 VN-VP box or a TH pattern 308 with the same box. Crossmember, speedo cable, tailshaft will all need the same work but the fitment is better between engine and box.

The easiest option would be a trimatic as it will bolt straight up to the engine and the mounts, tailshaft and speedo cable are the same.
