Hi Fastlaners,

I recently put a GTS dash into a HT Kingswood. I have noticed that the dash lights or illumination colour is quite a bit dimmer than on the standard dash and the lights appear to be 'whiter' than the standard dash, where they used to appear more 'yellowy'. The effect is for the GTS dash guages to appear more like white lettering on black, rather than yellowy lettering on black.

My question is, did HK, HT and HG all have different colour dash lights, or is there a difference between standard dash and GTS dash lights? ALso is there anything that could explain the lights appearing a bit dimmer? I did change the headlight switch over (factory holden , not reproduction one)at the time as the old one had a faulty dimmer rheostat.

Cheers

2 things come to mind. Are the lenses yellowed?
Or voltage drop. Have you checked the voltage at the bulbs?
Attn camry drivers. The accelerator is the skinny pedal on the right.

Hi Premier 350,

Nah,I havbe not checked either of those things. I wont be able to look at it again until the Christmas break. I'll check the lenses and the voltage as you suggest.

Cheers
