Thanks Rob

Hello Balfizar....
do you have a HJ parts book?
On pages 337 to 347 they have a whole list of
bolts /screws / washers /etc with their sizes and an illustration .
a lot of SP numbers.
I couldn't come across SP1829 or 9425804 however..

All the other parts lists I have says for 8.889 to 8.995 to use standard parts catalogue M37600
which is no doubt what you are referring to

No HJ parts books but I do have a heap of Parts History catalogues, and I found it in the 1978 book (PA1013 July 1978).

In the VB catalogues M38159B (Mar-79) its 9415537
In the VC catalogue M38325C Sept-81(superceded 9415537 / 9416821)it is 9425804
In the VH catalogue M38325D June-82 (superceded 9415537 / 9416821)it is 9425804

In the VK catalogue M39103A Mar-84 (superceded 9415537 / 9416821)it is 9425804
In the VL catalogue M39542A Aug-86 it is 9425804

In the GM P&A parts History Catalogue PA1013 July-1978 and in that page 268 part #9425804 is listed as SP1829.

It seems like we are talking about a garden variety commodore pull handle screw of which I have about x 50 and probably thrown twice that out.

Mind you I never trust part numbers and physical reality, they can be two different things!

Cheers

Do the illustrations show where those screws go in a VB-VL, or are they only listed in the text?

Reason I raise this point:

In early commodores there was an accessory pull-handle that was mounted to the door near the top of the door trim with a couple of self-tappers.

The screw in question could well be from those handles, rather than the standard armrest/pull handle used in all VB-VL.
Cheers,

Mick

Thankyou all for the information.
I have a set of door pull handles with the fitting instructions, shows positions for HD HR, HK-T-G, Gemini, VB - VL and Torana.
I dont have screws?
Do any of the part catalogues show the size of the screws?
Rob

On the money as usual mick, An "accessory" door pull handle. part numbers are right. but its a much smaller screw than the "armrest/door pull handle" about equivalent to the glovebox vanity mirror screws or the drivers seat height adjuster cover screw on a early commodore.

SP1829 is not used anywhere on a commodore.

Cheers
