JF Viva intermittent battery drain

Is there anyone around here who has had experience with these cars? The lady friend has a 2006 Viva (Daewoo Lacetti) that seems to have developed a very intermittent drain on the battery. Once every couple of weeks it doesn't have enough juice left to start in the morning. This is not unusual for these cars apparently, but I have checked the usual suspects (dodgy boot or glovebox light switch, corroded wire harness in rear C-pillar from split washer pipe)and it isn't them. There is no way in hell I'm going to be able to figure this out myself as it is so intermittent, and unless it is a known cause a GM service guy won't find it either. Does anyone know of anything I have missed? Pretty sure it is not the battery as it started OK this morning which is the coldest it has been this year.

A friend has one of these, and has only had 2 problems in the life of the car - a stuffed head, and the intermittent battery drain. Nobody could find it, so she resigned herself to carrying a jump-start pack in the hatch all the time. It would happen every few weeks, usually first thing in the morning at home, but occasionally after work as well.
When sitting in the car one afternoon waiting for her son at the station, she could hear a quiet hum/buzz coming from the front passenger door.
It was a the central locking motor sticking, and trying to lock or unlock the door, but couldn't get the lock rod to the end of it's travel.
She had the solenoid replaced, and at the same time they lubricated the mechanism & locking rods, and it hasn't happened since.
I would suggest pulling the fuse/breaker for the central locking, and see if it still happens, but as it's such an intermittent fault, it's probably more luck than diagnosis that will help you find it. |

This is exactly the kind of info I am after. Now I plan on spending a fun weekend sitting in the car repeatedly pressing the remote lock/unlock buttons just to see what happens. I am easily entertained.
That jump start pack is probably a good idea also.

Check out some of the lithium jump-starters on eBay - for about $100, you get a pack that's the size of a VHS video cassette, with enough grunt to jump a 6.0L VE. I didn't believe how good they were until I tried one. Example of a couple in Australia: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141631945797
