You can use blank HQ-WB discs and get them studded to LH-UC stud pattern. The EH guys do it quite often. You have to run 14" wheels

can you buy blank lx discs and get them redrilled to suit hq??? as putting hq stubs throws the lx steering out the bump stop especially unless you buy the a9x steering arms so im told i did a friends lx torana once with hq stubs we used uc steering arms it wasnt to bad but still had trouble with bump stop

I can't see why you could not get HQ stud pattern on an LX disc unless the size of the surface area is not available to do it. I will ask. Were there A9X Torana's with HQ stud pattern?

I reckon that whole bump steer thing is a bit of a gee up by the Torana nuts. I had an LX hatch that I put a UC crossmember in with HZ stubs, discs and calipers with UC steering arms. It was the best driving and handling car I ever owned. The A9X/L34 steering arms are now reproduced by Harrop.

Peter, all L34 and A9X ran HQ-WB discs. L34 ran HK-early HX stubs, A9X ran late HX to WB stubs.

I have just put a disc brake set-up on my HQ Tonner.

Can someone tell me what is the name of the valve you need to remove to make them work properly and is this valve in the master cyclinder?

Cheers

It's called a residual pressure valve & it consists of a small spring & rubber piece which is held in place by the outlet fitting olive. Simply remove the olive, discard the spring & rubber & refit the olive.

4 wheel drum cars have two of these, front disc cars got one & 4 wheel disc cars have none.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
