i bought the left and right seal door roof rubber for my HT GTS and found it to be a perfect fit. However when compared to the original i found that it doesn't have the small rubber seal at the rear window end. .This provides the seal between the seal rubber and the quarter window (when fully closed). Without this there is a gap of 0.125 cm3 (cube). This will allow water into the quarters and we all know the effect of water and the rear quarters of a GTS. The original seal did not have this gap. Is this a known issue to RARE SPARES? Is there a fix to this?

Pull out the dreaded rusting felt, spray in cavity wax/fish oil.
Who care how much water goes in so long as it can get out.

"we all know the effect of water and the rear quarters of a GTS"

Are you saying the Holden ruber stopped water, me thinks not.

Hi Tanart,

The "Rare Spares" HK-HT Monaro Roof Rail Seals do come with the small rubber block on the end of the seal.

Can you please let us know which store supplied you the product.

One possibility is youve been supplied with a HQ seal in error, however the HQ seal is noticeably shorter.

Regards
Rare Spares

Whilst HK-HX are supplied as one length, we enclose the following instructions to suit the particular model.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2 DOOR MONARO HK–HX, ROOF RAIL SEALS

Note: DO NOT CUT SEAL BEFORE FITTING. Fit to vehicle first then cut end to suit.

PLEASE NOTE:
HK HT HG MONAROS – CUTTING IS NOT REQUIRED.
HQ-HX MONARO – CUTING IS REQUIRED DUE TO THE ¼ PANEL HORSE SHOE RUBBER MEETING THE END OF THE ROOF RAIL SEAL

Tanart we would still like to know the store the product was purchased from, so we can follow it up. Cheers.

Hi, i bought them from the Bayswater store (Melb). There is only one part number for hk-hx and i did not cut the seals. Fitted perfectly. Can you please keep me informed as to the outcome. i now i have to be careful when washing and driving the car in the rain. ill try and glue/weld something on the end.
I did take out the felt and fish oiled everything.

Hi Tanart,

That seal definately should of had the small rubber block. Im not sure what has happened, however, if you return the seal to the Bayswater store and speak to the store manager Steve, he will replace the seal for you at no charge.

Kind Regards,
Rare Spares
