Hi, I have noticed over the years that the reproduction EJ/EH utility venetians do not fit up to the rear screen very well at all. These venetians fix to the rear screen utilising the 2 divider bars separating the 3 piece screen. From the inside, the top & bottom screws are used to hold the venetians in place.
When looking at the venetians, the geniune article has a stepped section on the mounting strip of approx. 10mm to sit the venetians away from the window. This step is top and bottom where the 2 screws on each strip secure the venetians to the screen dividers.
The 2 mounting strips on the repro items are flat. They do not have this step pressed into the mounting strip, making the venetians fit hard up against the windows.
I did mention this to the Rare Spares outlet in Bayswater years ago, and the staff basically said it wasn't their fault. Through this lack of interest, I didn't follow up the issue.

Has anyone experienced problems with this repro product?
Has this issue been raised in the past?
If so, what are the thoughts of Rare Spares in correcting this repro item?
I have a set of the genuine article that fit up to the window nicely. I am happy to compare the products so that the problems can be addressed if need be.
Regards, John.

John
They are not a product we make and we have only sold one in the last 5 years, I will ask the supplier but sales are very low so I doubt he would want to change them.

Thanks Les. Makes the originals a little more desirable then I suppose.
