my hx has the fuel filler behind the number plate (im guessing standard for HX). when im filling it i have to go ridiculously slow or else i get a big bubble and fuel pouring out all over my hands. im thinking it is just the poor design of these tanks that causes it, but is there anyway i can stop this from happening? anything anyone has done or does to stop this from happening every time they fill up? it takes a solid 10 minutes to fill the tank.

bronson, I would be looking at dropping the tank and checking / renewing all the breather and emission hoses. A previous owner may have blocked one or more of them if they were perished. If you get under the car, with it securely on stands / ramps, you should be able to see the emission hoses at the front of the tank, behind the diff. There is a filler vent hose among these.

I had that problem till I just pushed the nozzle in as far as it will go, right up to the plastic shield and no more problem.
