Hi all, need abit of help with timing. Now i know if you advance the timing to much you will get pinging. But if you retard to much can you still get pinging? Dose the pinging sound like a loose roller rocker under load ? This is on a SBC to.

hmmmm while I am not looking at your car and no mechanic ...

Yes pinging can happen if the timing is to advance or the other way.


does the ping happen @ idle ? ... dont think this can happen. Has to be under load
