Gday guys,

I have a 1974 HQ monnaro sedan and from when i take off it has a constant sssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh noise coming from the rear...??? Its not really loud but loud enough to know its there. Anyone have any idea what this could be. Its not a build up after i take off but the noise is instant fom take off.

Any suggestions...???

Snake around the diff?
Remote mount turbo?
Tyre scrubbing on a guard?
Some chump stuck something up your exhaust pipe?
Bailey channel stuffed in the rear window (or any of the other seals as suggested above)?
Branch caught under the car rubbing on the ground or driveshaft?
Brake shoe adjusted wrong?

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
I had a sound like that once and it turned out to be a small rock caught between one of my rear discs and the caliper.

Maybe you have something floating around in a rear drum such as a spring come adrift.

As said jacking the car up and turning the wheels should tell you which side to pull apart.
