You will need to provide the numbers after the 307 that will tell you what plant and time frame it came from.

Could be from any HK, most likely Brougham.

Possibly not Monaro as 307 was available from 1/1/68 through to Monaro/Brougham release, and could be HT also. Depends upon the engine number. Worth something, but not huge $.

This has been brought up before, if you want it nailed down you will have to quote the whole engine number except for maybe the last 2 digits eg, 307123##. With that info the guru's will tell you which plant originally installed it in what time period.

AFAIK the 307 prefix indicates a Holden installed engine and K1019 means McKinnon engine plant in Canada and Oct 19. It will probably be 1967 rather than 68 which would make it as Byron said HK pre Monaro.

6 I think for the Tonnawanda HK engines, but not totally sure. Lots more for the later McKinnon ones.

If it is from a Monaro it would be from an vey early, pre production pilot run Sydney car.

I make it about May 68.

Warren, curious as to why a 1019 date assembly code has to be from a very early HK Monaro? I've found plenty of October 1967 dated engines in the mid-high 12000's eg 1018, 1019, 1024.

Byron, I said "if it was from a Monaro" not that it was from a Monaro. High 12000s are early production Monaro so low 12000s would be too early to be normal Monaro.

As for date code, some of these engines sat for a long time at the bend. Lognest known is a first type 327 enigne fitted to an Impala or Pontiac in 70 or 71.

I'm still confused though. All we have is that it was a 1019 assembly date. I just assumed that you musn't have seen too many of these in Monaros. ITCH's may not even be a Pagewood engine though.
