Hey Domc and everyone, thought you might like to see a couple of pictures of my HQ. It is based in the UK. The second picture is on wedding duty.
Cheers Richard

Nice looking car there! I actually don't mind it in the one colour. I'd love to see some more photos, close ups and some of the interior. I've seen an old guy in my area cruising a not bad nick aquamarine Kingswood with a black vinyl roof....maybe another project for me, drop a 308 in it :)
Ha ha love the pics of it cruising the streets of the UK! do you get many expats coming up to you freaking out? or others going what the hell is this?!

HI Domc
Yes anything can happen when I'm out in it. Last week an Aussie tow truck driver followed me for miles until I stopped at a petrol station just to ask questions. Lots of Aussies come up and take photos with mobile phones. But most of all, people of all ages come up just to comment on what a good looking car it is.
I will get some close ups of the interior and other angles for you. I have been going to do that for ages but had to get my son to show me how!
Got to say though if I could change one thing about mine it would be to swap the Kingswood interior for a Prem one like yours. The extra padding in the Prem seats makes them more comfortable.
I'm still angry with my Dad for not ticking the Premier options box!

So its your dad's old car? Nice one! My old man had a HG GTS Monaro 186S - do you think he kept it for his only son?? Did you move to the UK then import it over?? Whats your story?

Hi Domc

Yeah it was my Dad's. He is 82 now, so a similar age to your Italian owner. I was there the day it was delivered new which was 24th April 1974. At the weekend I'm going to get some close ups for you. You wouldn't believe it, but the classic car insurers wrote to me today and want new photos of it from every angle to prove its condition.
So I'll do it and post them here at the same time. Mate, give me your email address and I'll tell you the story . If I put it all on here the site will probably crash!
Cheers

Richard

Nice HQ.
Is that a pair of VR wagons behind your car in the first pic? That seems like an odd choice of vehicle to haul halfway around the world.

Amazing where our cars pop up. In Malta I have seen quite a few Aussie made cars, Holdens, Valiants and Cortina's etc. All personal imports and usually in very schmick condition too.

Well Spotted playwme. There are two VR-VP wagons in the background in the first shot. They are ex Telecom Australia cars that were imported from Perth I think. This photo was taken at the all G.M day a few years ago. Not a great choice to bring over in my opinion either.

I think one of them had problems with the ECU and nobody could help at this end.Car was off the road for a long time until the owner could get back to Aus to get a donor from a wreck.

It's an Opel Kadett, not a Gemimi.

HI Mowog
If you are talking about the Holden U.K register I was a member from 2000 up until a year ago. Only stopped because I moved and the guys lost my new address details.
Anyway, up until about 2003 the HUKR used to have their annual meeting at the Billing Aquadome in Northants. All the G.M brands used to go to this event. AFAIK the Holden boys stopped going because the public liability insurance was too expensive, so they moved the meeting place to the Ace Cafe in London.
Problem is that whereas Billing is a nice easy to get to small town, the Ace Cafe involves driving into the middle of a giant city of 10,000,000 people.
Last time I took the HQ there I got stuck in a traffic jam that took two hours to clear. Just a personal opinion, but unless you live in London, having a meeting place that you can't get to unless you sit in traffic for hours doesn't make for a good day out.
I'd rather get a group of guys together and drive through Wales or Scotland. By the way what are you driving? and where are you based?
Cheers
Richard

Wow that is a nice Falcon you have there. I would imagine you get the 'Is this the car they used in Mad Max?' question all the time.
Speaking of XB Falcons, a few years ago a yellow XB wagon turned up in a field in Sussex. I told Sandy Mercer from the Aus Ford club about it cause I thought you guys might get some useful spares from it. Not sure what happened to it after that.
