What will I need to do to get 289 rego in xp that had 170.

Go to the RTA website, there is a forumlar for this, I think a 289 should be OK

but considering the current climate perhaps consult an Engineer. the other thing to consider is for and engine swap you will need to modify the brakes, diff etc. under the proposed new scheme this will be classed as more than 3 major modifications and could be liable to come under the new porposed ICV laws (you dont want to go there if you can avoid it)

Hi Goodo, talk to an engineer first, they all have differen't requirements even when they are in the same state. You basically need to have boosted front disc brakes> some will say also:
lasp/sash seatbelts in all four corners
collapsible seering column
brake failure warning light etc
