Is there a book that can be used to decipher GM screws nuts and bolts , for instance nut " u spring type No8a" and screw " type 6 -18" x 1/2" . Is there some kind of reference from part number to description of the part. Example 133822 is a Flat head slotted bolt 5/16"-18 x 5/8" which I presume is 5/16" Dia x 18 TPI and 5/8" long. but type 6 or No 8 means nothing to me am I missing something

Some of the catalogues have Engineering drawings of each one. I'll have a look later.

Hi Les.
It is from the M37529 October 1974 HJ parts book.
There seems to be a similar listing in the Master parts catalog up till HR as well
Do you want a copy of that one too.
Where do you want me to email these to as I will send large images to make it easier to read.
Cheers Paul
