Is there a book that can be used to decipher GM screws nuts and bolts , for instance nut " u spring type No8a" and screw " type 6 -18" x 1/2" . Is there some kind of reference from part number to description of the part. Example 133822 is a Flat head slotted bolt 5/16"-18 x 5/8" which I presume is 5/16" Dia x 18 TPI and 5/8" long. but type 6 or No 8 means nothing to me am I missing something Les

Some of the catalogues have Engineering drawings of each one. I'll have a look later.

I cannot find anything with a full break down but this is what is in my HJ parts book. that is a insert from this page http://i872.photobucket....h/BoltsHJpartsbookL.jpg
There are 11 pages of bolts nuts screws etc If that is along the lines of what you are looking for I will copy them for you I you want them. Cheers Paul.

Paul Copies would be most appreciated, I have a HJ book but it does not have that section instead it refers to Standard Parts Catalogue PA1006

Hi Les. It is from the M37529 October 1974 HJ parts book. There seems to be a similar listing in the Master parts catalog up till HR as well Do you want a copy of that one too.
