Time has come to reinstate the fuel tank in the HT. Do I need to use a return fuel vaper line. It is a 308 Quaddie. The workshop mannual shows a one in two out fuel filter, can you still get these? Any info would be appreciated.

The fuel filter is inside the quadrajet.

That part is used on 308/5.0 litre auto with air from HT through to VL.

It is a vapour seperator and puts fuel back into the tank.

Thanks for the info Warren. The car is originally a 6 cylinder and has a return line on the tank but not under the body,as this was a complete wreck of a shell,so heaps of bits where missing. The car is now a mannual so do I still need a return line for rego and correct operation of the fuel system? Thanks again.

You do not need it for rego or operation.

Ryco Z102K fuel filter has a vapour return. Install in the line just before the fuel pump, and run a return line from the seperator back to the filter also. The return line system was used before electric idle-up compensators were installed for A/C equipped cars. Strangely Holden kept using the system right back to the tank for all HKTG's except 350 cars had both filter and seperator in the one unit pn5651430.
308 seperators never had a filter in them.
