I know that this has been discussed before, the Left side mirrors need bolts not screws.
I bought a pair of these about 3 years ago and the lock screws in the mirror heads have rusted and rust marks/stains have appeared around the edge of the mirror coming out from under the glass on both of them. I hope the newer ones are made out of a better grade of 'stainless' steel.
I have not posted this in order to start a sh**fight, just to remind you that although you guy's do go to great length to get stuff reproduced sometimes more attention to detail is required.

hi Bob, i havent had anything to do with these mirrors personally and will discuss the more indepth points you have mentioned in the new year once everyone is back
something i can look into right at this moment tho is the screws/bolts
is it only the LH mirror that needs a bolt? genuine catalogue doesnt list fasteners for the left hand side so i cant look that up for confirmation does the screw work its just not as original or does the screw not work at all? what type of bolt is it? hex head? with washer? etc etc
if youv got a pic or anything that would be great and ill look into them

IMHO it is difficult to get a screwdriver into position to attach the screws even with the door gutted, spouse you could drill holes through inner door skin if you particularly wanted to use screws.
Hex headed bolts with 1 spring & 1 flat washer make the job really easy. And yep just the left hand mirror needs bolts.
