Merry christmass to all, i have a few questions regarding the date codes , i have 3 carbs that are part no:7041282zf, i have searched through this forum and found that '41' means 1971 but the date codes are: (1941) i assume that the 1 at the end means 1971 the other end in a 2 (2692)(3122)does this mean they are 1972? also does the '8' mean australia? another i have is part no:7043284 (1863) 1973? how can you tell if they are off 308 or 350 engines? i also have 2 other that are part no: 17057294 (2728) and 17059595 (1234 pxk) any idea what they are off,,,,,regards dave

The last number in the date code is the year, the first numbers are the day of the year so 1941 is the 194th day of 1971. I'm not sure about the later ones but I'm pretty sure that the 7041282 and the 7043284 are both 308 automatic (auto = even last number, manual = odd) carbs off a HQ.

Yes 7041282ZF is early HQ 308 auto.
7043284 is later HQ auto and also 1974 HJ auto, but that carb will be off a late 1973 or early 1974 HQ.
