Paint is Amethyst Metallic
Trim is Flax.
Its a Monaro LS V8 coupe.
Its a Sydney body.
If the plate with the paint codes is unstamped for the engine and trans it will be the standard combo, probably 253 trimatic with a 2.78 diff.

As James says, 1826 is Amethyst metallic. 18 is Flax and S is diamond cloth inserts.

Not sure why it'd have an Engineer's report for NSW with a Chev and TH400, unless it was for a 400 or bigger? Funny that it would get a Police number too if the original number is on the rails. Even if it was stolen and recovered it could be regoed with the original numbers.

the engineers report also mentions diff modifications and 9 1/2" wide rims on the rear, so i guess its mainly aimed at that, i was wondering how i would go trying to re register it on its proper chassis no: ???

Is the original number crossed out (overstamped)?

I'd talk to the Police and RTA and see if any history comes up against the old chassis number. If not, I can't see why you can't weld up the Police number, file it back and use the original.
