Hi guys
West Oz Customs broke one of my fender badges (and bent the other) when they took them off to put the single light front end back on the HJ - though they didnt both telling me, they just put them in the box for me to find out later.
The one i had on were the red type (which i prefer).
My question though is....how can you tell whether the car should have red or black as there seems to be both types and i now need to replace them.

I prefer my Gibson Les Pauls Myself , LOL!!!
Americans call Guards-Fenders , Bonnets -Hoods , Boots -Trunk, Sill Panels-Rocker Panels . Hope that helps .

Hey Green HJ
I had this guy put on a single light nosecone and a rear spoiler.
He needed to prime the front end of the guards/fender because the person who put the preier front end on had bogged the gap between the nosecone and the guards/fenders.
Mind you, for what he charged me ($4k no paint) and what he did, i was none too pleased:
1. The work was really rough - the priming required hours to clean it up and he hadn't fixed any dips in the bootlid;
2. He didnt connect any wiring to my lighting at all;
3. He snapped my badges and didn't tell me; and
4. He lost the corner peices to the rear spoiler (told me he never got them) and then installed the centre piece around one inch too low so i had to redrill and install myself anyway.
I am generally a pretty placid and am happy to pay good money for a good job but this really pissed me off. But you live and learn and with my mates who are into this stuff, they now know where not to go - just cost himself in the long run.
That feels better.

that sucks.
Reminds me of the time i took a bonnet and prefitted hornet scoop for paint to a supposed "expert" and it came back with colour match done by braille and runs all over the underside.
colour match i could "live with" because its a bastard of a colour to get right (at least by the monkeys i seem to use for various things)
When i complained about the job i was told "if you wanted show quality i wouldve charged double" lol.
for your 4k in labour, you paid a hell of a lot of hours (40 or 50 most likely) so i see why youre pissed.

LOL... thanks, I'm well aware of the Yank terminology and was just taking the piss... being as we are, in Australia and all....
