ok. so now iam a little upset, the holden dearlership said that if the engine light hasn come up on my dash there was no point testing it, so he recomendedd that i try the O sensors so i replaced them and still no change.....:( do u think the fuel pump could have anyeffect on fuel consumption??? any other ideas mate because i need this problem fixed asap....for those of u that dun know i have a VS 6cylinder that is using way to much fuel any help wud be much appreciated...

There are many fault codes that don't bring the 'Check Engine Light' on. There also is a lot more to check in the ECU than just fault codes, active data from all sensors can be read live.

I notice you have been popping back now and then.
I totally agree it must make genuine mechanics despair at the damage this sort of laziness is all I can call it (or ignorance) does to the rep of mechanics.
