ok. so now iam a little upset, the holden dearlership said that if the engine light hasn come up on my dash there was no point testing it, so he recomendedd that i try the O sensors so i replaced them and still no change.....:( do u think the fuel pump could have anyeffect on fuel consumption??? any other ideas mate because i need this problem fixed asap....for those of u that dun know i have a VS 6cylinder that is using way to much fuel any help wud be much appreciated... thanks guys

Hi Hjohn.
There are many fault codes that don't bring the 'Check Engine Light' on. There also is a lot more to check in the ECU than just fault codes, active data from all sensors can be read live.
I get really annoyed with technicians who try

Nice to see you back Dr.Terry! I notice you have been popping back now and then. I totally agree it must make genuine mechanics despair at the damage this sort of laziness is all I can call it (or ignorance) does to the rep of mechanics.
