Hi jim

I looked at the Rares site as well & found that part, but & don't think it is correct for a Statesman. They are very different in this rear window & boot area.

Hi DrTerry,I think its got to be a good start thou as I dont think they do that part(or anyone) ,probably not enough demand, are the rear windows the same as sedan? If so he could "trace" one and make a panel,he's got the skill to do it,he's a reworker at our work and thats "metal finishing".
Dont think he's gonna find one thou.

I agree, if Rares don't do it, then it's likely no one does.

Having said that, I think it would be better to make one from scratch. The normal sedan/coupe section is not even close. It is essentially the boot seal area. The Statesman window frame has no connection with the boot seal area.

Or find a rust free Statesman being wrecked and cut it out.

yeah,I would cut one, although alot of wreckers wont let you use power tools(fire)but it is the best/only option if they arent even close.

no one makes that section or the dog legs for the wagon/statesman, there is a bloke in the restored cars mag who will make up anything, I think hes called tinwest & is in melb, otherwise you have to make up your own..
these was a HQ statesman shell on ebay a week or so ago, not sure if its still there..

This one?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/H...ars&hash=item336612dbcc

It says it is VERY rusty, but looks more like surface rust to me. Back window section is probably stuffed but it might be worth a look if not to far away? Wreck it out and sell the rest and make some $
