Well Its a sign, time to fix a problem

First off I pulled the bonnet release from inside under dash and bastard of a thing pulled straight out

Now Im stuck, how the hell do I get bonnet open firstly to fix cable, to I can not take grill off with out opening bonnet so how does one get access

What a bloody drama

Once I solve this then I need to fix problem that I was opening bonnet for hahaha

Oh you gotta love old Holdens

A long screw driver through the grill works on HQ's . . . You'll need a torch.
The part that gets pulled by the cable, you can usually push it sideways with something.

if rig pig suggestion doesnt work try going up from under the bar there should be a gap you should be able to get to the catch from there and lever the catch from there

i just stick a long screw diver through the grill and push the catch across

could you grab the left over end of the cable with pliers and pull it?

in a HJ HX HZ the grill holes can be damaged easily using a driver, the best method is from inder neath the bumper, having long thin arms help...
