Hey people just wondering if I could get some opinions and advice, I have bought a 79' HZ Kingswood SL and I am thinking of converting the front lights and grill to the HQ Monaro cause I like the look of it, now wondering the opinions of people here and also if it would be an easy conversion or would it be a painful exercise I know that the blinkers are in different postions so just wondering how much of a job would it be?
Any thoughts or advise or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks Megs

To convert to HQ front you will need to change the panel in front of the windscreen, as HQ bonnet has different style line location.

Other than that fairly easy, just re wire the blinkers and parkers.

You would need the radiator support panel also.

Apart from some blackout treatment the same panels are used on Kingswoods If you want Monaro guards as well it will cost you some serious money for genuine ones or weld- in flutes will still cost a bit to set up.
As Warren says the bonnet style lines will not match the lines in front of the window , otherwise it will bolt up easy.

If I was to just change the head lights would the HQ head lights fit into my kingswood? And while I'm asking what other grills would fit into the HZ kingswood?
Really appreciate your response to my post?

I take it you mean can you fit the HQ nose cone onto the HZ, as the headlights are closer together on HZ you would need the HQ radiator support also. The fenders and bonnet will not allign to the HZ front.

The HQ grille will not fit into the HZ front clip.

Why don't you just change the front to look like a HJ GTS? Will just mean a HJ grille, GTS badge, black headlight surrounds and chin spoiler (and HJ-HZ GTS guards if you want to go that far).

If you kept the current nose cone being HZ the following grilles will fit HJ, HX , including the statesman grilles from these models.
you can buy a GTS grille badge to suit from rarespares or ebay.
As Warren says the HQ nose cone will not fit with the HZ guards or Bonnet or bumperbar , maybe you could buy a HQ and sell your HZ?
