Amongst a bunch of parts I acquired recently is a bellhousing which has "HOLDEN 7437548" cast on it. It is a holden V8 bolt pattern and is the removable type like what is found on 6cyl powerglides.

From what I can gather, this would only have been fitted to a 253 or 308 in a HT

or

possibly on export model HGs with a holden V8 motor and powerglide transmission - if indeed there ever were any such vehicles

Can anyone confirm?

Is it right that the V8 powerglide has the speedo drive on the left and the 6 has it on the RHS?

At first glance any powerglide you spotted at a swap with a removable bellhousing you could easily miss as a 6cyl.

Yes. 253/308 HT powerglide is a 6cyl box with V8 pump, speedo drive and extension housing. Bellhousings were special build for the application.

No, all 3 p/glides have speedo cable inlet on th right side.

6cyl is smooth ext housing & chev & holden v8 one has webbing around bolt mounts. Although all are same length, th 6cyl one has th mount near yolk end (approx 3")& V8 ones are 4" more forward
