Hi there Can anyone identify the material used on the flap for the internal heater box shown in the picture below?? In trying to get rid of the dusty smell, I've pulled it to bits and I tried washing it to get rid of the dust - of course it disintegrated!! Not sure what it is, whether it's fore resistant (it's very close to the resiter element in the box) or where I could get some more. Any ideas?? Almost looks like they used up the offcuts from the carpet underlay....

Yeah it's sort of like really thin (about 6mm) cotton waste, but not really the same though - more fibrous.
And I'm panicking about it needing to be fire proof...
Maybe I should try and burn the scrutched up ball and see if it catches alight....
