HI Guys, Have a mate that is doing up a HR ute with a disk brake front end. I gave him a set of HK or HT 5 inch wheels, which I thought wouldfit without an issue. He tells me that they will not fit on the front as they scrub on the inside.

What is the go?? Does he need a special offset to get the 14 inch wheels to fit? Is there is certain model rim that will just bolt up?

Thanks

does your mate have HR disks or torana disks on his HR? - are the calipers torward the front or to the back of the disk?

probably hk rims...especially if they have a series of holes around the centre.
ht or hg ones have different offset and will fit. I had the same problem when I fitted the hr front end to the hq.

Not sure on this, I will find out and let you know. What way should they be for a factory set up?

He has HT rims now that do not fit, and this is what I found weird. As I know they are more offset than the HK rims, so they should fit no worries. Something just does not seem right and now that they could be Torana disks on the front it could explain a few things.

Right, he tells me that the calipers are on the front of the disk. Does this make it a genuine HR front end, or is it the Torana conversion?

Thanks

i think from memory, HR calipers are toward the front, torana toward the rear when they are swapped over L to R and R to L.
