as dave said, it'll be to short, maybe the yoke will be different too?

I have a feeling the T700 box is a bit longer than the 3 speed autos

The splines & slip yoke on the TH700R4/4L60 match the trimatic/T350/aussie 4 speed yoke. |

thats what i thought too... The ute / van / statey one too long. The T700 looks same length roughly as T400 to the eye on the floor , but with aussie yoke, as many you have all pointed out. so i was thinking a V8 sedan one may go close as its a cheap way out....was hoping some one may have done it.. i will have a measure up and see what i find and report back.... From a comparison point of view, when swapping out a T350 for a T700, my tailshaft needed no mods. Length of shaft & spline where OK. The rear mount was required to be approx 60mm further rearward for the 700 than the 350. Physically, the body of the 700 is quite similiar is many regards, but a tad more bulkier at the rear of the box near the extension housing area. ![](http://forum.ejehclubqld.com/ehclub/forum/uploaded/utility8/20092311413_EH%20UTE%20TH700%20012%20Fiting%20forum.jpg) |

ok, i just got a 2HDD V8 T700 today outta a hilux and measured it, 81 cm, from lower bellhousing bolt to end of rear spline.
i then measured my Aussie t350, same measurement was 76 cm. Therefore 5 cm difference approx.
Utility 8, how long was your T350 ext housing? (they come in 3 sizes, 3", 6"and 9"').. if its a 6 inch ext housing, it would explain your same X same fit..
anyway, the upshot is i think i can run a V8 HQ-Z sedan sedan tailshaft in a HQ - WBute with a V8 T700....bonus for all... |

Also measure up a HJ-HZ TH400 Statesman or wagon or ute/van tailshaft. Just replace the TH400 yoke with a 1-tonner yoke, they both share the same uni joint size. Rear uni on the TH400 shaft will be the same as the normal V8 Salisbury yoke (only the tonners and HQ 350 had a big rear uni). |
